Tom Stone is the stage name of Thomas Bengtsson, a magician, editor and author.
He has a column titled “LodeStones” in Genii, which debuted in the February 2009 issue and appears bi-monthly. Genii, The Conjurors’ Magazine is the longest-running independent magazine devoted to magic and magicians in the history of the art.
He was born on October 28, 1967, and presently lives in Stockholm, Sweden. Tom Stone is highly regarded for his creative insight into the art of magic.
He is best known for writing a series of articles and pamphlets about original magical techniques and plots. He wrote a booklet for magician Lennart Green and has self-published a series of pamphlets as well as several e-books. He has also been editor and publisher of various Swedish magic journals such as well as being a contributor to journals in several different countries.
His best-selling books, Vortex and Maelstrom, have cemented Tom’s reputation as one of contemporary magic’s most innovative thinkers.
He has performed at the invitation-only Magic Castle, and in 2000, he was a “performer and speaker” at the FISM “World Championships of Magic” in Lisbon, Portugal.
In 2003, he was a performer and competitor at the International Magic Convention & 20th Close Up competition in Kings Cross, London, where he was awarded second place.
